DECT
DECT stands for "Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications". It is a standard for wireless telephone communication, often used in cordless landline phones. DECT offers reliable and high-quality voice transmission as well as good range within buildings. Since DECT operates in a frequency range specifically designated for it, it is immune to interference from other wireless technologies such as WLAN or Bluetooth.

FAQ - DECT
How is a DECT handset paired with the integrated DECT base in the Centro Business 2.0?
The pairing process can be initiated from the router portal or by long-pressing (7 seconds) the DECT button. After releasing the DECT button, the DECT LED begins to flash white and the DECT handset can be registered. Upon successful pairing, the DECT LED lights up blue.
How is security increased against unauthorized pairing of a handset?
In the router portal, pairing can be protected with a PIN code.
Can the integrated DECT base be switched off?
The integrated DECT base can be switched on and off either from the router portal or by briefly pressing the DECT button. If the DECT base is switched off, the DECT LED goes out.
Which DECT handsets can be paired with the integrated DECT base?
- Recommended DECT CAT-iq handsets: Gigaset SL360, Gigaset CL660, Gigaset E560, Gigaset Maxwell, Nyon.
- Handsets with DECT CAT-iq standard: All main functions are supported.
- Handsets with DECT GAP standard: Only the basic call is guaranteed.
How can the range for DECT handsets be extended?
To achieve optimal range for DECT handsets, the Centro Business 2.0 must be positioned as centrally as possible. If such positioning is not possible or effective, the "Gigaset Repeater HX" can extend the range for DECT handsets. A maximum of two repeaters can be paired. The repeaters are suitable for a maximum of two DECT handsets.
How can DECT telephony be used if the range extension with the Gigaset Repeater HX is not sufficient?
DECT telephony can be used with the deployment of a "Gigaset IP BASE COMFORT Base Station", connected with the Ethernet cable to the LAN of the Centro Business 2.0 or Centro Business 3.0 router.
When does the No Emission Mode become active?
As soon as there is no DECT traffic for approx. one minute, the DECT transmitters on the base and the handsets are switched off. When using the Gigaset Repeater or DECT GAP handsets, the function cannot be activated.
Why can't all numbers be selected when pairing handsets?
In My Swisscom, numbers for DECT handsets can be pre-selected. Thus, it may occur that not all numbers are offered.
