Accessing the Router Portal
The local router portal serves as the central interface for the administration and monitoring of the network infrastructure. It enables individual configuration of the local area network (LAN) as well as detailed insight into current connection data and the status of the services used.
To ensure flexible management, access can be gained both internally via the company network and externally via remote access. Security and the assignment of responsibilities are controlled via a tiered role model. Depending on the selected role, specific read and write permissions are available, ranging from simple status queries to full system configuration and data backup.
In addition to active settings, regular backups of the router configuration can be created via the portal to guarantee rapid restoration of operations if necessary.

Opening the Router Portal
- InOne KMU or Business Internet Service
- Enterprise Connect XS
Local
Open the internet browser on the PC and access the router portal via the corresponding "gateway IP address" (default: http://192.168.1.1). Alternatively, the hostname http://centrobusiness.local can be used.
Remote
Temporary remote access from outside the local area network (LAN) can be activated via "My Swisscom Business" (superadmin).
Local & Remote
Router access is to be used exclusively via the EC Dashboard.
Requirement for access
The password for local router administration is known.
Forgotten your router password?
If the password is no longer known, it can be viewed in the My Swisscom Business portal. A Swisscom login is required for this.
If the login for My Swisscom Business is also no longer known, it can be reset via the Swisscom help page.
Restrictions
Local access is generally not possible if:
-
The router is switched off or restarting
-
The internet connection from the end device is encrypted (e.g., VPN/RAS)
-
The router is in use with BNS/EC-S (site networking)
-
The end device is only connected via IPv6
-
The connected Ethernet port on the router is:
- Configured as WAN failover
- Deactivated via the router portal
- Configured for the DMZ
- Configured for PPP Passthrough
- Configured for IP Passthrough
-
The connected WLAN meets one of the following conditions:
- The separate WLAN was used instead of WLAN1 or WLAN2.
- DMZ is activated on all ports – this also includes the WLAN.
FAQ - Accessing the Router Portal
What is the menu structure of the router portal?
Please note
Depending on the access role and operating mode, the menu is slightly different:

What is the difference between Login and Secure Login?
When choosing the login mode, a new browser window opens either with http:// (Login) or with https:// (Secure Login). Secure Login uses a self-signed certificate, which cannot be verified by the browser. The subsequent error message must therefore be ignored.
What is the default router password after a reset?
For a Centro Business not activated by Swisscom, the password is reset to the factory setting and is 1234.
Is access to the router portal possible via the internet?
Temporary access to a Centro Business from outside the LAN can be activated via the Swisscom customer portal.
Is the router protected against unauthorized access?
- Yes, the router is completely protected against unauthorized access.
- If access is activated via the Swisscom customer portal, then time-limited access from the internet is enabled.
- This can lead to possible brute-force attacks and temporarily negatively influence stability.
Where can the router password be changed?
- A new password can be generated in My Swisscom Business (if the old password has been forgotten).
- This can also be changed in the router portal under the Router ➜ Password tab (however, the old password must be known).
How can the gateway IP be identified if it is not the typical 192.168.1.1?
The gateway IP address cannot be reliably derived from the client IP, as the gateway address can be freely defined in the router portal and therefore does not necessarily end in *.1. The gateway can also deviate for site networking (BNS or EC-S), typically to x.x.x.2.
Therefore, the gateway IP address must be checked directly in the router portal. For BNS or EC-S, the gateway IP can be viewed in the respective dashboard.
