FAQ - Manage WLAN
What to do if the WLAN signal does not reach all corners or the connection stalls?
The WLAN works best when it has a clear path. The Centro Business should be placed as centrally as possible, free-standing, and upright in the room. If the Centro Business is located in a cabinet or behind the sofa, the WLAN range is restricted. Walls, other devices, or plants in the immediate vicinity can also be obstacles.
The WLAN can be extended if necessary with one or more Business WLAN-Boxes (see "Everything about Mesh").
Does the Centro Business support WPS for connecting devices to the WLAN signal?
Yes. However, it is mandatory to activate WPS support on the desired WLAN1 or 2 in the router portal before first use.
- For security reasons, this function is not activated by default.
- With the WLAN encryption standard "WPA3 Only", WPS functionality is not permitted by standard.
Which WLAN settings are saved via Easy Activation at Swisscom?
To simply use devices already configured with WLAN again after a device reset or exchange, the following settings are restored:
- WLAN Name (SSID)
- Combined or Separated Mode
- WLAN Password
Do all devices already support secure WPA3 encryption?
Unfortunately, many end devices that do not support this standard are still in circulation.
- Always check if the manufacturer offers updates.
- Prefer Ethernet connections if devices (e.g., printers) still use WPA2 encryption.
